Busy? What Are You Busy Doing?
The business world is fast, furious, constantly changing and incredibly competitive. Our challenge is to be agile, flexible and adaptable to what is happening around us. Problem is, we’re all busy just trying to keep up!
We’re busy ticking off our to-do lists, trying to run a business or make a success of our career. We’re busy hopping from meeting to meeting, trying to manage our team. We’re busy trying to meet client expectations and ensure results are where they need to be. We’re busy dealing with the hundreds of emails that land in our inbox each day. It’s relentless.
The world is busy and that’s not going to change. So you have to make busy work for you rather than against you. You need to challenge the status quo and change the conversation from ‘busy’ to something much more resourceful to enable you to have an impact, be relevant, be competitive, understand your clients and your team and make sense of the constant change that is happening around you.
This keynote will inspire your audience to:
- Think very differently about the world of busy.
- Understand the different types of busy and the impact it has on our professional and personal lives.
- Motivate individuals to take control of busy with practical tips and strategies.
What Do You Want to be Known For?
In this crowded, busy and competitive environment your personal brand is more important than ever. It needs to be clear and compelling and easily recognisable or you’ll get lost in all the chaos.
Your personal brand is the strongest currency you have to deal with in business. So you need to ensure you’re investing the time to ensure it’s relevant, authentic and shining the light on your strengths and value. Or you’re at risk of getting known for the wrong things……or worse, not known at all.
It’s no longer acceptable to just ‘do a good job’. People aren’t promoted based on this fact alone anymore, or for tenure in a role. People need to see the possibility in you and the value you bring to the business. You need to be known.
This keynote will motivate you to ensure your personal brand is a top priority and understand the crucial role it plays in your success, now and for your future. It will also challenge you to think about what you want to be known for and the type of role model you want to be.
Women Leading From The Front
We still have a long way to go to achieve gender parity in business. Inroads are being made but not fast enough. It’s going to take all of us working together and each of us taking personal responsibility to create the change we want to see in the world. Part of this requires women to step up and lead from the front.
All too often women hold themselves back from making progress through lack of confidence, fear to step or a feeling of being unsupported. Women are constantly facing conscious and unconscious bias in the workplace and are often dealing with their own biases. As a result many are faced with situations where their voice is quietened or they take a step back waiting to be noticed.
As Sheryl Sandberg famously said ‘ women need to lean in and take their seat at the table’. Sometimes thought that’s easier said than done. It is however absolutely something all women can do, regardless of age, position or title.
This presentation will inspire you to:
- Challenge the status quo in your own workplace.
- Reflect and assess how you are leading in your workplace (regardless of position or title).
- Consider what action you can take to build influence and create the ripples of change so needed.
- Provide insights on how to effectively position yourself, stand in your own spotlight and build purposeful networks of support.
A Productive and Healthy Culture
Today’s business landscape is chaotic. The pace is frantic, the war for talent is furious, people want more for less, change is certain and competition is fierce. ‘Busy’ is what we know and we’re running really hard to keep up.
Our traditional way of working is fast becoming outdated. Whilst the focus on high performance – profit, revenue, sales, – remains, how we deliver this needs to change. The traditional culture of turning up at the office, being seen at your desk and putting in long hours is no longer effective and certainly does not mean you’re more successful or more likely to be considered for promotion.
We’ve never had to do or handle as much as we have to now and this presents a constant challenge to work/life balance and ultimately the health of individuals.
The reality is we need to become smarter at how we deliver the results for our people, our business and ourselves. Failing to do so sees us risking leadership relevance; healthy and productive workplaces and the burnout of our people.
This keynote will inspire and motivate leaders and organisations to think differently and embrace new leadership strategies that not only encourage strong performance but also build a healthy and inclusive culture.
