Start With ‘Why’.

Simon Sinek’s Ted Talk on ‘Start with Why’ is the perfect extension to Brené Brown’s talk I shared two weeks ago.

Simon Sinek is an author best known for popularizing the concept of “the golden circle” and to “Start With Why”, described by TED as “a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership all starting with a golden circle and the question “Why?”‘ His first TEDx Talk on “How Great Leaders Inspire Action” is the 3rd most viewed video on TED.com. His 2009 book on the same subject, Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action (2009) delves into what he says is a naturally occurring pattern, grounded in the biology of human decision-making, that explains why we are inspired by some people, leaders, messages and organizations over others.

I’ve shared some of Simon’s work before. Once again, Simon is talking about the core of influential, inspiring and authentic leadership your WHY.

People buy why you do what you do. People will follow if they understand and connect to your why. These people are your team and your clients. Not everyone will get your ‘why’ and that’s ok. Those that do are right for you. The most important thing is you know your why.

As business is getting more and more chaotic, confusing and all consuming, the driving force of our ‘why’ can get buried under the paperwork, lost in the smart phones and the constant deadlines. It’s time for leaders to reconnect with their why to inspire, lead and future proof their business.

I have no doubt you will love this. And if you would like to establish what your ‘why’ is, please register your interest here.
